Dam Bach Duong, Head of the Ministry’s High Technology Department said at a press conference in Hanoi on Tuesday that his Ministry is mapping out a national program for Industry 4.0, that identifies businesses at the center of support for the revolution. Mr. Duong said “We are working with scientists, businesses, associations, and sectors to finalize the program, which will be forwarded to the ministry leaders and the Prime Minister. The program will focus on helping businesses to access and participate in the 4th Industrial Revolution and define businesses at the center of this process.”

Mr. Duong refuted the World Economic Forum’s Readiness for the Future of Production Report 2018, which ranked Vietnam least prepared for the 4th Industrial Revolution. He said the WEF’s report cannot be used for comprehensive measurement because it is based on the WEF’s own indicators, some of which do not match the facts in Vietnam.
