(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Party, State, government and National Assembly leaders attended a centenary of the Russian October Revolution in Hanoi on Saturday.
Speaking in the event, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said the Russian October Revolution shook the world and opened up a new era for history, where workers seized administration to build a completely new society.
“Vietnam has all grounds to confirm that all its revolution successes are closely linked to impact of the Russian October Revolution and the faithful support by Russian people. President Ho Chi Minh was the first to access, absorb and creatively applied the revolution’s thoughts in Vietnam’s revolution.”, said Trong.

The Party leader said that drawing lessons from Soviet Union’s socialist building, the Communist Party of Vietnam has mapped out correct reform pathway based on resolute and creative application of Marxism Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thoughts.
“In the Russian October Revolution centenary, we are better aware of its contribution to the humankind and painful lessons from the collapse of the Soviet socialist model. We are more determined to reform for national independence linked to socialism as selected by the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people. Our revolution successes are vivid facts to reject distortions against the value of the Russian October Revolution, Marxism Leninism and Vietnam’s pathway towards socialism”, noted Party leader Trong.
He said Vietnam pledges to improve economic growth quality and competitiveness while protecting its national sovereignty and territorial integrity and being a trusted friend, partner and responsible member of the world community.
