At a conference on Wednesday, provincial People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Van Tri promised continued efforts to improve local investment climate, develop infrastructure and skilled manpower, and promptly deal with Japanese firms’ requests and administrative procedures.

Tri said that in recent years, Japan’s direct investment and ODA projects have contributed to local socio-economic development and said Vinh Phuc is calling for Japanese investment projects using modern technologies in mechanical engineering, electronics and their support industries, telecommunications, and construction materials.

As of the end of June 2016, Vinh Phuc had attracted more than 220 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 3.4 billion USD from 16 countries and territories. Though Japan only ranks third in number of projects and registered capital of 26 projects with a value of over 786 million USD, its companies have continually had the best business performance and contributed most to the local budget.
