VOV bureau in Australia inaugurated

(VOVWORLD) -The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) inaugurated a new representative office in Sydney, Australia on Saturday as part of the national multimedia organization’s blueprint to reach a wider global audience.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Ms. Rhonda Piggott, Director of the New South Wales State Office.  In his remark, VOV President Nguyen The Ky said VOV Australia will serve as a bridge linking Vietnam and Australia, New Zealand and other Oceanian countries, contributing to boosting mutual understanding.

“This is VOV’s 11th overseas bureau. Our correspondents will carry a heavier workload as they are involved in radio, TV, online and print platforms,” Mr Ky told reporters following the opening ceremony.      

The launch of the new VOV bureau came after Vietnam and Australia upgraded bilateral ties to a strategic partnership.
