(VOVworld) – The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed concerns about the H7N9 avian influenza outbreak in China, confirming that there is no evidence of changes in the epidemiological or clinical patterns of the disease in humans.

Wenqing Zhang, who leads the WHO's global influenza program, said that this is the 5^th time China has faced an avian flu epidemic in humans. The first human case was found in 2013. So far, one third of infected people have died.

On Wednesday, the WHO said that although there has been a surge in humans infected with H7N9 avian flu in China, the infection risk is not high. The organization warned authorities to keep close control of the flu’s development, adding that patients don’t need to change treatment methods yet.
