(VOVworld) - The world’s population is projected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050 and exceed 11 billion in 2100.

According to a new UN report released on Wednesday, India is expected to surpass China as the most populous in around seven years from now, and Nigeria will overtake the US to become the world’s third largest country around 35 years from now.
At present, China and India remain the two most populated countries in the world, each with more than 1 billion people, representing 19 and 18% of the world’s population, respectively.
