Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and his administration were strongly opposed to the peace deal, which required Mr. Hadi and his Vice President to transfer their powers to a new Vice President until a new President is elected. Yemeni government officials say the ambassadors of some of the 18 countries sponsoring the Yemen peace talks have put pressure on President Hadi and his government to change their position on the peace plan.
