Young pianists gather in Hanoi for international contest

(VOVWORLD) -The fourth Hanoi International Piano Competition is taking place until Saturday, bringing together 82 pianists aged 10-25 from nine countries and territories, including China, Japan, Canada, the US and Australia.

Vietnamese pianist Dang Thai Son, who in 1980 became the first Asian to win a gold medal at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, is the competition’s honorary president and art director. Performances are open to the public and take place from 9am-1pm everyday at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
