This is the third such event, according to Le Thanh Hien, Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai provincial Department of Foreign Affairs. “The exchange between summer campers and young people of Quang Ngai province was initiated in 2011. We hope to provide those living abroad a better understanding of local culture, history, and youth activities, thus inspiring their greater sense of patriotism,” Mr. Hien said.

The exchange featured songs in praise of national pride and vibrant dances. Nguyen Trung Kien from the US, who staged a guitar performance, said: “I’m very happy to perform in fronts of people coming from different countries but sharing the same root of Vietnam. I’m so proud and grateful.”
