The facility is significant in preserving and promoting the traditional values of Buddhism and connecting local historic and cultural relic sites. It will guide Buddhist monks, nuns and followers to practice religion for the sake of the country and people towards a wealthy people and strong, democratic, fair, and civilized country. The Hau Giang Zen Buddhist Monastery is built on an area of 4.2 ha.  Its construction began in 2014 with a total investment of 13 million USD, mostly from private funds.
