After leaving the army, Mr. Sau returned home and opened a carpentry workshop. Later, he established the Gia Phu brick factory, providing jobs to 70 locals paying around 250 USD per month per person. Sau also helped build houses for the poor.  He said: “I try to create as many jobs as possible for local people. I help the poor build houses and support workers by giving them preferential loans”.

Ms. Nguyen Thi To Tam of Que Son district said her family used to grow rice and maize on 1,000 square meters of land and earned very little income. Thanks to Sau’s help, she is now doing much better. Ms. Tam said: “I have worked at Sau’s factory for more than 10 years. The work and income are stable. Sau supports and cares for his workers.”

Mr. Sau also actively participates in charity work. Every month, he and his wife provide 400 free meals to poor patients at the health center of Duy Xuyen district. Do Thanh Minh, Vice Chairman of the district Fatherland Front, said: “Mr. Sau is the head of the local Fatherland Front.  He has been honored many times for his contributions.”

Sau is mobilizing support to build more charity houses for poor families. He is considered a great role model as a businessmen and philanthropist.
