(VOVWORLD) - Medical management software called MMS.Net for clinics in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak beat out 600 other entries from around the world to win the gold prize at the 2018 Seoul International Invention Fair in South Korea. The software has helped the health sector use human resources efficiently and provide high quality healthcare in remote areas.

Specialist Doan Huu Long, the head of the MMS.Net project, says software has been used mainly at district and provincial hospitals which have modern technical infrastructure and qualified staff. But commune and ward clinics lack that level of facilities and human resources.
“This software is a response to the fact that healthcare workers at the grassroots level need a tool to improve their services. Until now, there has been no effort to develop software to help grassroots level clinics perform examinations and treatment. Nor has there been an integrated IT solution for the entire healthcare system. That’s why we created this comprehensive medical management software,” Long said.
After 4 years of testing, improving, and debugging, the newest MMS.Net version now meets almost every technical, management, and operational requirement at 185 clinics and 15 provincial medical centers.
MMS.Net helps grassroots healthcare workers update data more quickly and precisely.

At the Tan Loi ward clinic in Buon Ma Thuot city, the software is used to store medical records, provide data for medical insurance payments, and manage medication and vaccination.
Pharmacist Ha Thi Dung at the clinic said: “MMS.Net has saved the healthcare staff a lot of time. It now takes 30 minutes to an hour to complete a medical report instead of the 5 to 6 days it used to take. It’s a big help to both doctors and patients.”
Since the software was installed at the Thanh Cong ward medical station in Buon Ma Thuot city in 2016, it has dramatically reduced the waiting time for patients, increased their satisfaction, and convinced more people to get treated there.
Doctor Do Minh Hai, the station’s deputy head, said: “The software has been effective for managing medical treatments, patients, drugs, and child vaccination.”
MMS.Net, which costs 30% less than other software, has been installed at more than 300 medical facilities across Vietnam.
