Various activities are held on the 16th Vietnam Poetry Day.

This year’s event is themed “Literature accompanying the nation” and reflects various aspects of life, especially Vietnam’s current issues.

Two stages are set up for veterans and youngsters from 60 poetry clubs. Poetry lovers also have chance to talk to 4 famous artists from the Japan International Poetry Society.

This year’s Poetry Day in Ho Chi Minh City focused on honoring poets who participated in the 1968 Spring General Offensive and Uprising. The event included various activities such as exchanges between poets and writers, a fine art exhibition, and a book launching to raise funds for young poets with difficult life conditions. Poet Van Nguyen Luong was among the attendees: “On Poetry Day, I hoped to exchange and gained more experience from veteran poets, and introduce my work to readers”.
