3rd National Emulation Congress for AO victims opens

(VOVworld) – The 3rd National Emulation Congress for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin opened in Hanoi on Wednesday. At the event, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilisation Commission Truong Thi Mai appreciated the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) and its branches for their responsibility, unity, and dedication to supporting AO victims. She asked ministries and sectors to continue cooperating with VAVA to improve the efficiency of their support programs and spread the message inside and outside Vietnam on the disastrous consequences of the chemical warfare.

Mai said: “Ministries and sectors work with VAVA to assess the implementation of policy for AO victims and suggest amendments to improve policy for revolutionary contributors and ordinary people who have been exposed to Agent Orange/Dioxin. It aims to cover all eligible beneficiaries and avoid people taking advantage of the policy. The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin should strengthen its local branches as reliable representatives for the legal rights and interest of the AO victims.”

Individuals and organizations with outstanding achievements in the emulation campaign for AO victims had conferred on them the Labor Medal, 3rd class, the Prime Minister’s Certificates of Merit, Certificates of Gratitude.
