92nd Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day celebrated

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City’s Journalists Association held a celebration to mark the 92nd anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21 and presented the 35th municipal press prizes. 70 works were shortlisted from more than 230 entries, reflecting news stories and communications on Party resolution.

Nguyen Thanh Trung from Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper won the first prize. He said:“The Youth newspaper always tries to convey the public opinions to the municipal authorities in a hope to promote the city’s development.”

A writing contest on youth movements sponsored by Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union attracted 417 entries from 47 central and local media agencies. This year’s contest covered the themes: the pioneering spirit during national development and defense, strong will to overcome difficulties, and building a career. At the award ceremony on Tuesday in Hanoi, the first prize was given to a series of articles titled “Stand up from the dead ocean” by Nguyen Dang Hanh Phuc of Thanh Nien newspaper. Five second prizes were awarded to articles that were originally published on the Tuoi Tre, Thanh Nien, Tien Phong, and Sinh Vien newspapers.

On Tuesday, the Journalists' Association of Phu Yen and Long An province awarded journalistic works on the 92nd anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, June 21. On the same day, the new version Hoa Binh online newspaper was launched in Hoa Binh province.
