Action month for children 2017 promotes communication on child care and protection

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City held a program for local disadvantaged children to mark International Children’s Day on June 1st and respond to Action Month for Children 2017.  

The city also launched a communications campaign on the Law on Children to communicate children’s rights and benefits, as well as services to support young victims of violence and sexual abuse.

On Thursday and Friday, around 300,000 children in Ho Chi Minh City will be provided with Vitamin A.

A book festival opened in Hanoi on Thursday with a wide range of books. Tran Thi Mai Dung, Head of the Press and Publication Section under Hanoi’s Department of Information and Communications, said: “The festival is held to bring children a happy and meaningful summer. This creates a new space with books for children and encourages their love for reading”.

A contest for Hanoi’s Ambassadors of Reading Culture was also launched at the 2017 Book Festival.
