Activities underway to mark first Vietnam’s Book Day

(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Saturday to announce the Prime Minister’s decision on Vietnam’s Book Day.

The same day, book streets opened in Ngo Quyen and Dinh Le Street in Hanoi. Books on display cover several subjects including Dien Bien Phu Victory, Vietnam’s seas and islands, 60th liberation anniversary of the capital city, and Vietnam’s world cultural heritage sites. Various activities are underway in Ho Chi Minh City in response to the first Vietnam’s Book Day. Hua Ngoc Thuan, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee, said: “Ho Chi Minh City has responded to Vietnam’s Book Day by organizing a seminar on reading skills in the digital age and exchanges to introduce readers, especially young people, interesting and precious books.

On this occasion, there will be a photo contest featuring books and life, and a book exhibition on the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory. These activities will take place until next Wednesday.
