UN Women Representatives in Vietnam said although reporters have attended training courses on gender equality, there are biased images and stories on women and children on the media.

She said reports on violence against women and children should avoid views of tolerance for violence, defending the violators, and blaming victims: “We have to ensure confidentiality and privacy for women and children, who are the victims, take a subjective, honest, impartial stance, and not to blame the victims. We have to protect human rights and the safety of women and children in all circumstances of reporting news on violence.”
