European firms give positive feedback on Vietnam’s business climate in Q2

(VOVworld) – 66.7% of European firms described their business environment as "excellent" or "good", according to the Business Climate Index (BCI) for the second quarter this year, released by the European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) in Vietnam on Thursday. The assessment demonstrated the smooth operation in Q2 of European firms, in addition to their positive comments about Vietnam’s business environment.

According to EuroCham Chairman Michael Behrens, the results showed the expectations of European enterprises for the near future and satisfaction with the present situation. EuroCham members maintained a positive view on the Vietnamese market and their business operations here. They said they hope that the implementation of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement will boost European business operations and investment in Vietnam.

Respondents also said Vietnam’s macroeconomic stability will likely continue with 56% of them indicating "stabilization and improvement". Meanwhile 34% thought that it will not change. Nearly 44% of those companies questioned said they would increase investment, while 43.7% expected an increase in headcount.
