Global financial firms confident about Vietnam’s growth

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s economy is forecast to grow at 6.8% this year, according to a recent World Bank’s report. Vietnam is expected to be the second fastest growing economy in the Asia-Pacific region, after Cambodia.

The growth forecast for the first quarter of this year stood at 7.38% for Vietnam – the highest in 10 years. Vietnam’s economy in 2017 also saw a decade-high growth rate.

Ratings firm Fitch forecast the Vietnamese economy could grow 6.7% this year, thanks to increased foreign direct investment, expanded production and consumption. Fitch raised Vietnam`s long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating (IDR) to “BB” from “BB-“.

The Asian Development Bank forecast Vietnam to exceed 7%.
