The award recognizes iconic green buildings, up-and-coming innovators, and inspiring companies driving change and creating a better future throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Joelle Chen, Regional Head of WorldGBC’s Asia Pacific Network, said the Green One UN House is a model of sustainable construction in Vietnam and demonstrates how innovative design and sustainable management practices can lay the foundation for meeting many of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Green One UN House, inaugurated in 2015, was designed to respond to environmental challenges facing Vietnam. The building reduced its energy use by a third through solar water heating and smart environmental controls, and is now returning a small percentage of site-generated or site-collected water to the city at a quality which exceeds the required standard.
