(VOVworld) - 6 communes in Phu Tho province on Thursday held a palanquin procession to Hung Kings' temple as part of celebrations of the death anniversary of Hung Kings, the founders of Vietnamese nation. The procession shows gratitude to the Kings, and prays for favorable weather conditions, bumper crop and a peaceful and prosperous country.  Nguyen Thi Tinh is a participant:  “All 10 members of my family take part in the ritual. Today, I feel very happy. I am looking forwards to more palanquin processions in the future.”

Phu Tho province, where the Hung Temple is located, is tightening traffic safety measures during the festival, particularly this weekend or the 9th and 10th day of the third lunar month. Local traffic police says parking areas are prepared to accommodate thousands of cars and tens of thousands of motorbikes of pilgrims.
