(VOVworld) – A seminar on planning, managing, and executing the spending of the national target program on population and family planning has opened in Nghe An province. During Monday’s seminar, hosted by the General Office for Population and Family Planning, delegates studied the prime minister’s decision to approve the National Target Program on Population and Family Planning for 2012 to 2015. The seminar also highlighted the major features of the intersectoral circular of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Health regarding the program.

The program set a joint target to maintain an appropriate low birth rate, control gender imbalance, and improve the health of the population. At the seminar, delegates discussed solutions for achieving the program’s practical targets. The National Target Program on Population and Family Planning was initiated nationwide in 2012 and continues to 2015 with total capital worth more than 420 million USD.
