(VOVworld)- The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans has held the 5th  national meeting to honor the disabled, orphans and their supporters.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam was among the 388 attendees from 63 provinces and cities to the meeting in Hanoi on Friday. In his address, Dam highlighted the Party, State and Government’s policies for the disadvantaged. The Deputy Prime Minister repeated the government’s commitment to continue providing funds to the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans and other charity organizations: “The handicapped, orphans and the disadvantaged need the community’s respect and help, so that they can stand on their own feet and give back to society. We will continue to work closely with the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans and other organizations to more effectively address the issue”.

 At the meeting, participants listened to presentations by the disadvantaged and orphans who have overcome their fates and become role models.
