National Press Festival 2018: Media promotes national reform

(VOVWORLD) -The National Press Festival opens in Hanoi Friday with the attendance of Head of the Party Central Committee's Communication and Education Commission, Vo Van Thuong, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, and President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Thuan Huu.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam told the opening ceremony: “We believe that the media will continue to develop and make significant contributions to national construction and defense. Following the theme “Vietnamese media stays side by side national renovation” we expect the media to promote national reform for faster and more sustainable development.”

On display are publications on Party building, the National Assembly and deputies, building a government of transparency and integrity that nurtures development and better serves the people, and code ethics of journalists.

President of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Thuan Huu said: “The Festival honors the media achievements, works, and reporters. It’s a meeting venue between journalists and the public, encourages then to fulfill their tasks to meet people’s demand for information, and promotes the role of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association. We also acknowledge the contributions of organizations to Vietnam’s revolutionary press.”
