(VOVWORLD) - “Colour of the Sea” has been chosen as the theme of the 2019 National Tourism Year to take place in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province at the end of this year.

The opening ceremony will coincide with the Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa sea festival slated for next May.
During the year, hundreds of events will be jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and relevant agencies.50 activities will be organised by Khanh Hoa province, and 35 others by 14 cities and provinces.
Tran Viet Trung, Director of the provincial Tourism Department, introduced the National Tourism Year 2019 at a press conference in Hanoi on Friday.
“This year, Khanh Hoa is expected to receive more than 6.3 million tourists. With such development potential, we hope we can attract a large number of visitors from our key markets of South Korea, Australia, Canada, and some Western European countries. Next year, we aim to welcome more than 7 million visitors including 3 million foreigners,” noted Mr. Trung.
The national tourism year in combination with Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa sea festival will promote the marine and island beauty and potential of Nha Trang Bay, which is also well-known for agar wood and bird’s nest.
