Overseas Vietnamese coming home for Tet celebration

(VOVworld) - The Vietnam Fatherland Front has held a meeting to receive overseas Vietnamese representatives coming home for Tet.

Speaking at the event in Hanoi on Thursday, the Fatherland Front Chairman Nguyen Thien Nhan reviewed major socio economic development and praised overseas Vietnamese’ contribution to the progress. He said the government will review its 10 years of implementing a Party Politbureau resolution on overseas Vietnamese.
Hungarian Vietnamese Phan Bich Thien was pleased to see national development and the Party and State’s incentives for overseas Vietnamese:“I hope the project on the preservation of national cultural identities will be carried out with practical steps. This will gather public opinions on the teaching of Vietnamese in foreign countries for Viet Kieu families.”
Voice of Vietnam held a meeting with overseas Vietnamese on Thursday. Chairman of Overseas Vietnamese liaison association, Nguyen Phu Binh, was speaking at the event: “Media agencies including Voice of Vietnam Radio have played a key role in connecting overseas Vietnamese with their homeland. We treasure supportive voices from overseas Vietnamese in policy making, economic scientific and technological initiatives.”
