Project to preserve ethnic culture in Central Highlands launched

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched a project to preserve the cultures of ethnic minority groups in the Central Highland. The project will inventory cultural values of the ethnic minority groups, work out emergency preservation and development plans, eliminate backward customs, train human resources, and promote unique cultural heritages in schools and festivals. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai:"The local ethnic people are the primary cultural entity to ensure the project’s success. It’s secondarily the responsibility of the central and local administrative agencies. The central administration will work out a general plan for local administrations to implement. We need the participation of local individuals, households, organizations, and administrations in preserving local cultural identities".
