Seminar discusses community’s reading habit

(VOVWORLD) - A seminar was held in Hanoi to review 5 years of implementing the Prime Minister’s decision on Vietnamese Book Day toward creating a learning society.

Participants affirmed the necessity of reading and its profound influence on society.

Chu Van Hoa, Director of the Printing and Publication Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, said: “The seminar will help create the foundation for fine tuning the Party’s guidelines and State policy on promoting good reading habits in society, building a favourable environment for reading and healthy reading habits, particularly for young people. The seminar aims to improve reading-related activities, popularize books, and mobilize social resources for developing reading culture.”

The seminar was co-organized by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Publishers’ Association and the Voice of Vietnam.
