Speaking at the event, Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Judicial Affairs Committee Le Thi Nga reiterated that Vietnam boasts some of the richest biodiversity in the world, with many native species of flora and fauna, including those which are endangered and listed in the world’s Red Book. She noted that Vietnam’s laws on dealing with violations in this matter remain insufficient and incoherent, calling on participants to seek measures for fine-tuning existing laws. Delegates contributed opinions on upgrading regulations in the Penal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code and other related laws to fight crimes committed against wild animals.
