Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said at the opening session that Vietnam’s renewal process over the last 3 decades has attached to reforming the administration and governance. “The State has to fulfill its function of serving the people and enhancing development. To this end, it's important to improve the quality and effectiveness of public administration and the performance of the state apparatus. It’s crucial to focus on reforming the state organization and public administration, and developing competent public servants.”

Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Head of the Conference Organizing Committee, addressed the conference. “Vietnam’s EROPA membership is a good opportunity for the country to share its experiences and cooperate with other member countries in the international integration process. It will benefit Vietnam’s administrative reform program, which aims to build a competent, responsible, dynamic, transparent, and effective public administration.”

During the 6 day-conference, the delegates will discuss reports on State transparency and accountability, relating to the digitalized system in Japan, the involvement of the private sector in mitigating and responding to climate change in the Philippines, public administration and governance in the global integration and globalization process, and the challenges and solutions for Vietnam. EROPA was formed in 1960 as the first organization in the Asia-Pacific region working to improve public administration and boost regional socio-economic development.
