(VOVworld)-The Chief of the APEC Secretariat Standing Unit has confirmed 90% of preparatory work for the APEC Year 2017 is done.

Ms Nguyen Nguyet Nga said Vietnam has set up an inter-sectoral task force and a national steering committee to prepare for the APEC Year:We have completed 90% of preparations and the remaining work agenda will be consulted on with other APEC members in their summit in Peru this November. We aim to complete 70% of logistical work by the end of this year. The successful hosting of the APEC Year will stimulate Vietnamese growth and partnership relations to promote Vietnam’s soft power.”

Vietnam will host some 200 meetings, including 20 ministerial level events during the year and a one week summit. 13 out of 20 APEC members are Vietnam’s strategic and comprehensive partners. They account for 78% of FDI and 70% of trade revenue and tourist inbounds.
