Vietnam ranks 64th among 160 countries and 4th in ASEAN in terms of logistical development. In order to reduce logistics cost, participants suggested that Vietnam should speed up administrative reform, reduce customs clearance time, and avoid freighter jams at border gates.
Other measures include improving road transportation near the coast, upgrading seaports, and setting up a national steering mechanism on logistics. The forum was held in Ho Chi Minh City  by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the Association of Logistics Companies, and the Vietnam Economic Review.
