Dr. Hoang Van Nghia, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, told an international workshop on human rights training and dialogue held in Da Nang city on Thursday:“We confirm the Vietnamese State’s 8 basic policies on human rights. First, human rights are respected and protected. This is reflected in all policies, including the latest social welfare policy which is in line Article 34 of the 2013 Constitution. For the first time, the Constitution stipulates the right to social welfare. This article also ensures the rights of vulnerable groups, especially people with disabilities.”

Vietnam gives highest priority to building a law-governed state and reforming laws to consolidate legal foundations and policies related to human rights protection and promotion.
