Vietnam launches Action Month for Children 2017

(VOVWORLD) - The Action Month for Children 2017 was launched on Saturday in Hanoi with the aim of raising people’s awareness and calling their actions to prevent child abuse and violence in an effort to improve their living environment.

The Action Month for Children is observed in June when the 2016 Law on Children begins to take effect to realize children’s rights and protect them against evils.

Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, said: “During the Action Month for Children, we will review child care work and promote communications. This is the time for each adult, family, and social organization to take action for child protection.

At the launch ceremony, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh applauded the theme of this year’s Action Month. She called for the widespread enforcement of the 2016 Law on Children and measures to prevent child abuse and violence.
