Vietnam today has approximately 50 million internet users, around 50% of the population, which is higher than the global average of 45%. It’s estimated that Vietnam will be one of the top countries of mobile phone users in 2020.

It’s a favorable foundation for Vietnam to promote an online ecosystem. Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan told the event that Vietnam will continue to support businesses in entering the 4th industrial revolution. “I believe that with its telecommunication and IT infrastructure, and abundant human resources in the ICT sector, Vietnam can live up to expectations. The Ministry of Information and Communications pledges to accompany IT, telecommunications, digital content, and Internet application businesses towards a fair and sustainable digital market. We aim to have more Vietnamese businesses achieve success abroad and mark Vietnam’s position on the global technology map.”

Vietnam Internet Association, the organizer of the event, also launched a “Chat bot 2017” contest for startups and young programmers.
