VOV marks 72nd founding anniversary

(VOVWORLD) - On Voice of Vietnam’s 72nd anniversary, on September 7th, the broadcaster held a meeting and presented VOV awards to outstanding individuals.

Present at the meeting was Head of the Party Central Committee's Communication and Education Commission Vo Van Thuong and other leaders.

VOV President Nguyen The Ky recalled the national broadcaster’s major achievements and mapped out future directions: “In the near future, VOV will prioritize FM broadcasts but have the foresight to keep pace with the international development. We will make full use of social networks to post VOV programs in addition to improving the content and format of VOV programs across radio, TV, the Internet, and printed newspapers. VOV will renovate its financial operation towards increasing sources of income and improving staff benefits.”

Politburo member Vo Van Thuong presented gifts to the families of two VOV musicians, Thuan Yen and Hoang Ha, who have been honoured with the Ho Chi Minh Award for Literature and the Arts.

On this occasion, VOV awards were presented to outstanding teams and individuals who have significantly contributed to VOV’s journalism, arts and literature, technology, research, song writing, and performance.

A statue honoring journalist Tran Lam, VOV’s first President and Editor-in-chief, was inaugurated in VOV headquarters on Wednesday.
