War martyrs, veterans honored to mark founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army

(VOVWORLD) - Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended an incense offering ceremony in the northern province of Thai Nguyen to pay tribute to 60 war martyrs.

She hailed their sacrifice as a bright example of revolutionary heroism during the liberation of southern Vietnam and national unification.

“The ceremony was to pay tribute to major contribution by war martyrs, war veterans and former youth volunteers. I appreciated the provincial government and people’s efforts and charity by the community in the construction of this relic to pay tribute to the martyrs,” said Ms. Ngan.

In the southern province of Soc Trang, the local military command held a get-together of war veterans and presented them with Orders for National Defense in recognition of their contribution to building up the provincial armed forces.

In the central highlands province of Gia Lai, 13 houses were granted to war veteran families in need in the border district of Duc Co.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Saigon Innovation Hub launched a program to facilitate young people’s meeting and talks with war veterans who had fought in Cambodia.
