Representatives from the city of Choisy-le-Roi, where the delegation of the government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam stayed for 5 years during the negotiations of the 1973 Paris Peace Accords, also came to pay tribute to the late General. City mayor of Choisy-le-Roi Daniel Davisse told VOV: "When we heard that the General had passed away, we were very sad, because a major character like him, the symbol of Vietnam, has gone. The city of Choisy-le-Roi has stood with Vietnam during its fight for independence and reunification. The image of General Giap will live forever in human history. His talent and character are of great significance for younger generations to follow."

Visitors recorded their feelings about General Giap, and many young Vietnamese living and studying in France expressed their determination to follow the bright example of General Vo Nguyen Giap by contributing to Vietnam’s development today.
