(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Party, State, National Assembly, and Government have received condolences for General Vo Nguyen Giap’s passing from countries around the world.

Messages of condolence were sent from leaders of the French Communist Party, the Communist Party of Peru, the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain, the Chilean Communist Party, the Chilean President, Cambodia’s Senate, the Cambodian National Assembly Chairman, and the Nicaraguan Foreign Minister.

They expressed their sympathy for Vietnam’s huge loss, praising General Giap’s life-long pursuit of peace, human dignity, justice, freedom, and unity. Though the General is gone, his precepts remain shining all over the world.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos on Friday completed security preparations for a General Giap memorial service for Vietnamese living in Laos. The memorial service will occur simultaneously with services in Hanoi, Quang Binh, and Ho Chi Minh city.
