Exhibition on Hoang Sa,Truong Sa archipelagoes opens in Hanoi

(VOVworld) – A number of documents, objects and maps affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos are on display at an exhibition in Hanoi.

The exhibition display versions of Han, Nom script, Vietnamese and French documents and royal documents issued during Vietnam’s feudal regimes and the Nguyen dynasty. The documents and 65 maps on display show Vietnam’s exploitation, management and sovereignty over the archipelagos.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Truong Minh Tuan, and the Head of the exhibition’s organizing board, said the documents and objects were legal and historical evidence collected from inside and outside Vietnam confirming Vietnam’s sovereign ownership: “The exhibition affirms Vietnam’s legal stance and promotes the solidarity and responsibility of all Vietnamese people inside and outside the country to protect the national sea and island sovereignty. It also helps foreign friends better understand the truth in the history as well as Vietnam’s just desire to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea and in the region”.
