China’s actions provoke East Sea tensions

(VOVworld) – The US State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki told reporters Tuesday that there have been no sufficient proofs to accuse China of causing the sinking of a Vietnamese fishing boat in the East Sea but China was believed to be the provocative side.

She stressed that the US doesn’t have independent sources of information about the sinking of the Vietnamese ship but remains concerned about Chinese vessels’ actions in the East Sea. She urged related parties to refrain from provocative actions to ease the tensions and resolve the conflicts safely and responsibly. In response to questions regarding whether Vietnam’s actions in the East Sea are provocative, Psaki reiterated that only China’s actions are considered provocative. She added the US will seek further information on the sinking of Vietnamese ship through all possible channels.
