(VOVworld) – Ho Chi Minh City has seen stable growth in many socio-economic targets over the past 4 months. The city’s industry production index has increased 5.2% while export turnover has also risen 22% over the same period last year. There was an increase of 13% in the city’s tourism revenue and 41,000 new jobs were also generated.
Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, said: "With a slight increase of 0.14% in the consumption index above the previous year, it’s possible for the city to achieve the target of maintaining the inflation rate under 7% as set by a National Assembly resolution. This is attributed to the city’s perseverance in implementing a number of solutions in recent times, and these will continue in the near future."
The city plans to continue addressing difficulties facing businesses and supporting market development. The relevant agencies are urged to improve trade promotion while strengthening and expanding exports markets and implementing programs to stimulate domestic consumption.
