(VOVworld) – A meeting highlighted by a grand parade took place in New Delhi on Monday to celebrate India’s 66^th Republic Day. The celebration was attended by President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narenda Modi, Congress party President Sonia Gandhi, other party leaders, activists, military generals, and foreign diplomats. US President Barack Obama was also invited as an honorable guest.

In a televised speech on Sunday, President Pranab Mukherjee congratulated all Indians at home and abroad on the Republic Day.
