Malaysian King starts his visit to Vietnam

(VOVworld)- Malaysia’s King, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, and the Queen, Tuanku Hajah Haminah, arrived in Hanoi on Thursday for a four-day state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang.

Their visit coincides with the 40th anniversary of bilateral relations between Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi, and it is hoped that it will enhance ties and cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, security and tourism. The two sides have maintained exchanges of high-ranking visits and contacts. Malaysia is Vietnam’s ninth largest trade partner with two-way trade reaching nearly 7.9 billion USD in 2012 and 3.6 billion USD in the first five months of 2013.
