(VOVworld) – Quang Ninh authorities have been urged to do their best to ensure stable conditions for local people affected by heavy rainfalls and floods. By Monday morning, roads in Quang Ninh were cleared and dykes and dams were under control with normal water levels. The provincial police and military mobilized forces to Ba Che district which was inundated and isolated by heavy rainfall, protect and evacuate the local population.

In Dien Bien province, the provincial Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control sent teams to vulnerable points to ensure public safety and help flood victims. Nguyen Duc Duyen, deputy chairman of the Dien Bien Phu municipal People’s Committee, said: "We’ll help local people affected by floods with money from a provincial fund in case of floods and storms. We are lucky there was no loss of life. Ensuring environmental sanitation and clearing water drainage systems are also important tasks."

In Son La province, the roads over Chieng Dong mountain pass in Yen Chau district have been cleared. The northwest provinces’ Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control, and Search and Rescue, are evacuating local people to safety.
