President Truong Tan Sang visits Kon Tum

(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang urged Kon Tum province to boost the industrialization of agriculture and improve planning for agricultural production during a visit over the last two days. He asked the province to recalculate forest acreage in order to work out measures to ensure social welfare, develop the economy, and protect the environment:  “In addition to protecting specialized forests, the province should reserve land to develop long-term cash crops and short-term agricultural plants. Forest planning requires close cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the locality. Relevant agencies should be involved to devise necessary policies fore forest development. Ineffective forest management and plantation should be retracted and allocated to more capable agencies to ensure higher economic efficiency.”
