(VOVworld) – Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete left Hanoi on Wednesday, concluding his 3-day visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang. During his stay, President Kikwete held talks with President Truong Tan Sang, paid a courtesyvisit to Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, and met with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung. During President Kikwete’s meetings with Vietnamese Party and government leaders, both sides discussed international issues of mutual concern and agreed on closer cooperation on regional and international forums to build a more equal and democratic world for peace, stability, cooperation, and development. They reached consensus on boosting political cooperation through high-level delegation exchanges, improving people-to-people diplomacy, and connectivity among both countries’ major countries to enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples. They pledged to create favorable conditions for the implementation of bilateral agricultural and telecommunications agreements as well as to boost cooperation in various fields within the South-South cooperation framework. Both sides agreed to organize an inter-governmental meeting in 2015.
