Hang said that IPU participants have seriously debated sustainable development goals from turning words into action, a major topic proposed by Vietnam.

He commented on the National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung’s election as President of the IPU-132: “The Presidency is a tough but honorable mission. Hung has chaired and joined in decision-making in discussions including a major topic of “Sustainable Development Goals: Turning Words into Action”, proposed by Vietnam and approved by Assembly members. This will promote the role of Vietnam as an initiative giver and a decision maker. The election is a critical step in demonstrating the Vietnamese Party and State’s foreign policy of active and proactive international integration. It also reflects the prestige and credit of Vietnam and the National Assembly in the international arena”.
