Vietnam officially withdraws from hosting ASIAD-18
(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has decided to withdraw Vietnam from hosting the 18th Asian Games (ASIAD-18), which were slated for Hanoi in 2019. The Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday released the final decision on hosting ASIAD-18 by the Prime Minister, who assigned relevant agencies to discuss with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) the option of withdrawing as host.  Vietnam has no experience in organizing big sports events like ASIAD, and the event has not been adequately prepared.  The Prime Minister had not yet approved any plan for the organization of ASIAD-18.
